Our landscape construction team created a series of outdoor “rooms” to maximize the space in this unique Del Mar backyard.
The challenge with this interesting property was making the most of the available space, which included steep slopes and narrow bands of land around three sides of the house. The finished space maximizes usability while providing spaces perfect for relaxing and entertaining.
A ledge stone lap pool and raised spa with a small lounge area line one side of the house. Bamboo plantings will grow to create a privacy screen while bringing a pop of life and color to this side of the yard.
Along the other side of the yard, an outdoor kitchen and dining space includes a large BBQ island and a granite-topped bar with seating for four.
A more formal dining table and a small lounge area with a custom water feature off to the side is perfect for dinner parties or family meals outdoors.
A grassy play area with artificial turf was built in the third space, with casual seating along the edge. To finish off the design, a custom wood gate adds security and curb appeal.
